Reading & Understanding
Understand tasks, identify information and make supported inferences.
Learn the subject. Build lasting learning strategies.
When a child says “I can’t do it”, the reasons may differ: misunderstanding the task, uncertain concepts, difficulty organising ideas or not knowing which strategy to choose.
At HERMES, questions, work samples, tasks and classroom observations help us understand each student’s starting point and thinking, then adjust guidance and practice.

How children explain an answer, where they hesitate and why they choose a strategy offer clues to their difficulties. We encourage them to express their thinking and learn to question, check and improve.
